We Want You!

CAP offers many avenues of volunteer service, including emergency services, training and mentoring of cadets, and aerospace education. We also need volunteers for community outreach, media relations, and administrative responsibilities.  While we welcome pilots and those aspiring to join the military or have served or are currently serving, you don’t have to any of these things to join.

The Auburn Squadron meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm Central at the Auburn University Regional Airport.  Cadets (Youth Membership) meet every Tuesday due to their set curriculum.  Senior Members (Adult Membership) meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, however, they are not discouraged from attending the other meeting nights.

Time Commitment

As a member of CAP, you are expected to attend meetings regularly and participate in activities that fit your emergency services and/or squadron job.  As with anything you do in life, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.  Civil Air Patrol is no different.  Most adult members spend approximately 6-15 hours a month on CAP, depending on how involved they are, but we only have two two-hour meetings a month.  The cadets must participate actively in the weekly two-hour meetings in order to promote. At these meetings, cadets will receive their leadership training, aerospace education, and character development lessons.  Additionally, cadets learn about drill and ceremonies, customs and courtesies, current events, and much more.  This meeting time plus the time they must spend on their own studying for their tests typically equates to an average time commitment of 10-20 hours a month.

To set up a time to visit Auburn Composite Squadron, please the squadron staff via email.  Thank you for visiting our website, and we hope you will consider joining our team!
